The photographs of our frog room. The J-strain Xenopus laevis to which we are maintaining the strain in this room is the only inbred strain of X. laevis in the world. This strain took J of Japan, was called J-strain, and has been established by Dr. Chiaki Katagiri and Dr. Shin Tochinai in Hokkaido University (Reference 1 and 2). They have been established this J strain over 30 years. The rejection for exchange transplantation among adults does not occur in the complete inbred strain. However, in spite of the same strain, it was reported for the first time by our research that an adult rejected the skin of a larva (Reference 3). J-strain of X. laevis is only in Hokkaido University and Niigata University in the world. Most frogs are maintained in Niigata University now.
At the frog room, We can do the thymus-extomized operation, the skin transplantation, and the micro-injection in the early stages of development. At this laboratory, the poster of the contents of research is exhibited at any time. We welcome those who interest to come to see.
