Introduction

The International Congress on Natural Sciences with Sisterhood Universities (ICNS) was initiated in 2011 by Prof. Tae Hwa Kim (former Dean, College of Natural Sciences, Pukyong National University, Busan, Korea), Prof. Morimitsu Tanimoto (former Dean, Faculty of Science, Niigata University, Niigata, Japan) and Prof. Wen-Chun Hong (former Dean, College of Science, National Sun Yat-Sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan) to establish a forum for the exchange of academic resources among sisterhood universities. The previous congresses were held in Busan (Korea, 2011), Kaosiung (Taiwan, 2012), Niigata (Japan, 2013) and Changhua (Taiwan, 2015). ICNS-AICS 2020 was planned to be held at Niigata University, but had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, with the WHO's declaration of the end of the COVID-19 emergency phase, ICNS 2024 was planned to be held at Niigata University, and with the approval of the International Organizing Committee, it was decided to hold from September 26th to 28th, 2024.
